Ok, we know this is our 4th trip to Roatan in 2026, but that’s because its just that great!
Beautiful Caribbean reefs, delicious food, a private pool, and one of Roatán’s most famous beaches just steps away. That’s our Roatan resort week.
Our late-August group spent a week at Naboo Resort in West Bay, enjoying a relaxing mix of scuba diving, island life, and new friendships.
This group had the added bonus of having Madi as their trip leader – for her first time! While Madi has been on many trips with us, this was her first time as an ambassador. She did great and we are so proud – welcome to the team Madi!

About Our Roatán Trip at Naboo Resort
Naboo is a small boutique hotel in the heart of West Bay, one of Roatán’s most popular beach destinations.
Unlike our more dive-intensive Roatán trips, this week was all about balance.
Our mornings were spent exploring the reefs, while afternoons were free to relax around the hotel’s private pool, walk to West Bay Beach, or explore the local restaurants and shops.
Breakfast and lunch were included, making our dive days easy and convenient. In the evenings, we could venture out to enjoy Roatán’s dining scene together.
It’s a great setup for divers who want the convenience and comfort of a resort without spending the entire week on a dive schedule.

Scuba Diving in Roatán in September
The island is known for beautiful coral reefs, typically excellent visibility, warm Caribbean water, and generally mild currents.
This resort is in a different part of the island than our Budget Week, so we do some different dive sites. More sandy bottoms and diving near the western tip of the island.
Fall in Roatan is the best time of year. The silversides are around, groupers are spawning, and some of the coral spawns around this time too!
But for this group, squid and seahorses stole the show.
We encountered squid on several dives, and spotting seahorses was a first for some of our divers.
Seeing their excitement as they discovered Roatán’s marine life made the week even more special.

A Week of Diving, Good Food & New Friends
One of the best things about staying in West Bay is having so much within walking distance. After diving, we enjoyed the quiet of Naboo’s pool or head down to the beach for an afternoon in the sun.
With plenty of nearby restaurants, evenings were an opportunity to enjoy good food and spend time together without having to travel far.
Our group was a lovely mix of new and returning MHT travellers, and everyone quickly settled into the relaxed island atmosphere.
There were plenty of laughs, great dive buddies, and even a hilarious highlight video put together by Allison that had everyone sharing memories and identifying the fish we’d seen throughout the week.
It’s these little moments, both above and below the water, that make group dive travel so memorable.

Resort Week vs. Budget Diving in Roatán
One of the things we love about Roatán is that there are so many ways to enjoy the island!
In August, we hosted two very different dive trips.
Our budget-friendly Roatán trip focused on getting as much diving in as possible while keeping costs low. We stayed at a simple local hotel in the mangroves, enjoyed three homemade meals a day, and packed in 17 dives over six days.
Our Naboo Resort trip offers a little more comfort and a slower pace. With ten dives over five days , we had more free time to relax by the private pool, walk to West Bay Beach, and explore the restaurants nearby. We also have a bonus day to do different island activities (or more dives!)
Both trips offer beautiful Caribbean diving, great company, and the MHT community we’ve come to love.
The biggest difference? How you want to spend your time when you’re not underwater!
Whether you’re looking for an affordable, dive-heavy adventure or a relaxing Caribbean holiday with plenty of scuba diving, Roatán has something for you.
