Just got back from Fiji with my hubby/dive buddy, celebrating our Scubamoon. 😍 The trip staff is always supportive, professional and fabulous! The resort crew on site was amazing. Diving in Fiji had been on our goals list ever since my friends and I learned to scuba three years ago. One of my high school friends had already travelled with Mar Hosted Trips several times, so when the Taveuni trip came up, she suggested we book with them. By the end of the week, I completely understood why she keeps coming back. My goal was simply to spend time diving with my friends. I knew I’d meet new people along the way, but I never expected to come home with new friendships—especially with Maira, the heart behind Mar Hosted Trips. Rainbow Reef was unlike anywhere I’d dived before. The strong currents, combined with an 11-month break from diving, knocked my confidence. I told Maira how I was feeling, and she immediately reassured me. She later told me she’d been quietly checking on me throughout the dives, even asking the dive master, “Where’s Small?” 😄 “Small” became my nickname for the week because apparently the tank is bigger than I am! What really stood out, though, was that while she was looking after me, I noticed she was doing exactly the same for everyone else. She always seemed to know where each diver was, making sure no one drifted too far and everyone was comfortable. That’s when it all clicked for me. Maira doesn’t just lead dive trips—she genuinely cares for the people she is responsible for. She also coached me through the week, helping me relax, slow my breathing and enjoy the dives again. By the end of the trip, I had regained far more confidence than I expected. I think I’ll be enrolling in “Maira Academy” again because I still have so much more to learn. 😊 What impressed me even more was how much she cares—not just for the divers, but also for the reef, the dive masters and the local community. Whether it was reminding us to protect the corals, organising a kava night with our dive masters, or supporting a local restaurant in Taveuni, everything reflected genuine respect for both the people and the place. The resort was another highlight. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and you could tell Maira had chosen a place that reflected the same values she brings to her trips—quiet luxury, thoughtful touches and great value for money. Thank you, Maira, for an unforgettable week in beautiful Taveuni. I came for the diving with old friends and left with new ones—and, more importantly, a much more confident diver. I now completely understand why my friend keeps travelling with Mar Hosted Trips, and I certainly hope this won’t be my last. Just got back from traveling to Taveuni, Fiji with Maira! I’ve gone on many dive trips, but this was my first with MHT or any of the people I went with. I was very hopeful it would go well since my husband and I already signed up for a second trip with them in 2027. We both felt so welcomed to this group, and were very impressed with the organization of the trip. Taveuni and the Rainbow Reef were beautiful. The people you’re with on a group trip definitely make it or break it, and Maira and the wonderful people in our group made this such a fun week. I just returned from my second trip with Mar Hosted Trips, and once again, it was fantastic! I’ve been to Cozumel and Columbia with the group! 🐋 Our fabulous trip leader, Shev, made sure everything ran smoothly and that we were well taken care of. I just returned from my first trip to Colombia with Mar Hosted Trips, and it was incredible. Our trip leader, Shev, was absolutely amazing. As someone who doesn't have a permanent dive buddy, I can't recommend the experience of traveling and diving with Mar Hosted Trips enough. I did the Galapagos liveaboard with them and it was my first trip with this group. It is very clear that MSS is work very hard to make solo female divers (like me) feel comfortable and have a great experience. It is also clear that they do a lot of research into what shops they partner with on this trips. I felt supported through the trip. Special shoutout to Clarence for being a fantastic group leader! I feel like he addressed each bump in the road (which always happens with travel) very thoughtfully. He was even kind enough to help me work on dropping weight (18 lbs to 10 lbs in a 7mm yay!). The ladies on the trip were also amazing!! My buddy and roommate and I instantly connected and are planning to do other trips together! I am grateful for all the incredible women I met and I plan on keeping in touch with many of them. For my celiac friends out there (or anyone with severe dietary restrictions), go with SMM!! They will take care of you! Clarence communicated my dietary allergies/restrictions with the local shop ahead of time and asked multiple times throughout the trip about my experience was with the food. The local shop was very careful with my allergies and made special gluten free food for me! I didn’t get sick once!! Overall, a great experience and I am looking forward to going on another trip with MSS! I’ve been on two Scuba MAR Maids trips (Roatán and Colombia) with Mar Hosted Travels and can’t recommend them highly enough. The locations are wonderful, the diving is well organized with great dive shops, I’ve always felt super safe and watched after from a diving perspective, and they have trips to accommodate a variety of budgets. Shev was my trip leader on both trips and she does such a great job of making everyone feel welcome and supported. They arrange every aspect of the trip so you can just show up and have everything planned - a very welcome change for someone who just doesn’t have time to plan every minute of a vacation (you’re free to opt out of any activities at any time and can go do your own thing as well). My dive skills have improved immensely since my first Marmaids trip, too. I was going to give up on diving entirely but Shev’s guidance and watchful eye have helped me become so comfortable in the water - I wish I’d done all my training with them to begin with! All of that aside, the best part of these trips is the community they’ve built. If you’re someone who is open minded, up for an adventure, curious about the world and enjoy experiencing new people and cultures, these trips are for you. MHT curates trips that bring together like-minded people from all walks of life. Don’t be hesitant about going alone because you’ll make friends as soon as you arrive. MHT is top tier and there’s a reason why they have so many repeat travelers. This trip was a bucket list trip for me and it was unbelievable! MHT did an amazing job planning and setting up this trip for us.
