Say hello to our first trip of 2026!
From January 17–21, 2026 our Scuba MAR Maids headed to the quiet south coast of Puerto Rico on an all new Mar Hosted Trip!
11 women divers & MHT Ambassador Stephanie escaped winter for 4 nights in La Parguera soaking up warm water, great company, and the kind of underwater moments that stay with you long after you rinse your gear.

The Dives
We did 3 days of diving, 2 boat dives each morning with family-run operation Paradise Snorkel & Scuba.
Conditions varied, but the underwater action delivered. We saw reef sharks, spotted eagle rays, green morays, and lots of reef favorites like lobster, conch, flamingo tongues, and towering tube sponges.
We knew it was gonna be a great trip when our first morning started with a manatee that came to visit us the dock.

After the Dives
Our afternoons were intentionally slow. After diving, we leaned into the downtime, napping, reading, and hanging out by the pool at our boutique hotel.
New friendships formed easily. Some pairs hit it off right away, others bonded over dive briefings and shared meals, and some wrapped their very first MAR Maids trip already talking about the next one.
Evenings brought local flavor and celebrations. We celebrated birthdays with fresh seafood red snapper and conch alongside fried plantains, and there was even room for Thai ice cream because why not.
Trip Highlight – Bioluminescent Bay
For nearly everyone, the favorite moment of our trip was our night snorkel in La Parguera’s Bioluminescent Bay.
After sunset, we took a dusk boat ride into the bay and waited for night to fall.
As the light faded, we slipping into the dark water and watched as every movement sparked electric blue lights to shimmer in the water.
Tiny organisms called dinoflagellates live in the waters of Bioluminescent bay. These microorganisms produce a glow when moved, like when we swim or they get caught in a wave crashing on the beach.
So every movement in the water made us feel like we were floating on pixie dust, surrounded by millions of little lights!
It was a gorgeous, calm, night that felt like pure magic. Definitely something we won’t soon forget!
Short, sweet, and full of unforgettable moments, this Puerto Rico getaway was everything a MAR Maids trip should be. Great diving, meaningful connections, and just enough adventure balanced with real rest. We will absolutely do this one again in 2027!
